This local choir was formed in 2012 in response to a request, made to Judy Martin by several local singers, for a small auditioned ensemble which would specialise in singing Early Music with very few voices to a part. The group has now increased in both size and repertoire to consist of twenty singers singing polyphonic music from the Renaissance period to the present day.

Libby Burgess’s passion for working with singers is tonight rewarded with a concert with two young and established performers, Gareth Brynmor John, baritone and Gemma Summerfield, soprano.
The Dante Quartet was founded by Krysia Osostowicz in 1995, its name inspired by the idea of an epic and challenging journey. The quartet has appeared at all the major UK festivals and concert societies, as well as in many European countries, and has just made its first tour of Japan.

Find out moreAn evening of Czech and Russian music from the ISCA Ensemble master-minded and conducted by Roger Hendy, together with Luka Okros, the rising star of Russian piano interpretation, playing music by Dvorak, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov. Luka visited Honiton for one of the Festival’s lunchtime concerts in 2015 and received a standing ovation from the audience - never seen before in St Paul’s Church. We agreed that he should return to East Devon and perform the piano concerto of his choice!

Music Deco is a trio including Kate Walker, soprano, Andrew Daldorph, piano, and Chris Gradwell. All three will be performing with strings and brass of the ISCA Light Orchestra, conducted by Roger Hendy, who will be acting as MC for tonight’s musical amusements. Among other instruments, Alfie Pugh will feature on sandpaper!
